Project Description
As part of the global Nestlé group’s green transition and sustainable development strategy, the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station at the Bien Hoa plant was invested in to provide a clean energy source, replacing traditional fuels in the production process. This is a project with highly specific technical characteristics. VIETTOP Construction is proud to be the contractor undertaking the structural infrastructure construction and supporting the installation of the station system, contributing to the realization of Nestlé’s carbon emission reduction goals.
Project Requirements
- Absolute explosion-proof safety: CNG gas has high pressure and is highly explosive. Every item, from foundations and cable trenches to grounding systems and fireproof boundary walls, must strictly comply with fire prevention and fighting regulations and petroleum standards.
- Foundation and structural quality: The station houses pressure gas tanks and high-capacity compressors, requiring the pile foundation and concrete support base systems to have exceptionally good resistance to static loads and vibrations.
- Nestlé’s strict HSE standards: Ensuring the construction process does not affect the existing operations of the factory, maintaining a “Zero Incident” goal throughout the project.
Approach & Methodology
- In-depth risk control: Establishing specific safety plans for Hazardous Areas. Gas monitoring systems, spark-proof construction equipment, and Hot Work Permit procedures are strictly controlled every day.
- Multi-layered technical acceptance: Foundation materials, underground cables, and high-strength concrete are continuously sampled for inspection. VIETTOP coordinates closely with Nestlé’s energy experts to accept even the smallest construction milestones.
- Special task construction team: Utilizing a workforce of engineers and workers with specialized safety certifications in the petrochemical/energy industry, adhering to site discipline at the highest level.
Project Outcomes
- Absolute safe handover: The project was completed in 2021 with a record of zero safety incidents, fully meeting the schedule to bring clean energy into production.
