Project Description
7-Eleven is the largest convenience store brand in the world. In the Vietnamese market, Seven System Vietnam Joint Stock Company (SSV) is the exclusive franchisee and developer of the system. In 2023, VIETTOP Construction was proud to be SSV’s strategic partner in the project to roll out a large number of 7-Eleven stores across Ho Chi Minh City. The project demanded not only crisp construction quality but also tested the contractor’s multi-site management capability and express rollout speed, in order to meet the Client’s aggressive market-coverage strategy.
Project Requirements
- “Ultra-fast” fast-track construction: The nature of the convenience retail industry demands an extremely short construction time (typically only 10 – 15 days per store) to minimize rental costs and bring the store into profitable operation quickly.
- Consistent brand identity standards: Closely following 7-Eleven’s global standards for color ratios (Orange – Green – Red), slip-resistant and stain-resistant materials, and standard illumination levels (Lux) to create a safe, friendly feeling for customers shopping 24/7.
- 24/7 durable M&E systems: Specialized electrical and water infrastructure for high-capacity equipment running continuously day and night (open display chillers, industrial freezers, coffee machines, food-warming areas and the central air-conditioning system).
- Optimized storage space: Building the back-of-house storage area and staff circulation in a neat, well-planned way within premises of limited area.
Our Approach
- Mass production & modular assembly (Prefabrication): To match the chain’s opening pace, VIETTOP standardized its technical drawings. All shelving systems, cashier counters and advertising signage were mass-produced with CNC machines in the workshop and brought to the site only for final assembly.
- Multi-site Management: Elite, flexible construction teams were organized to rotate and control quality simultaneously at many different sites across the districts of Ho Chi Minh City.
- Adapting to every site condition: Difficult premises such as apartment-building shophouses, busy main-road frontages or narrow-alley residential areas were handled flexibly, ensuring occupational safety, obtaining night-work permits and avoiding noise disturbance to surrounding residents.
Project Results
- Achieved the 2023 expansion target: Premises were handed over in large numbers on a demanding schedule, helping SSV successfully open its chain of stores according to its business plan.
- Consistent brand identity: Despite differences in size and site conditions, every completed store exudes the standard, bright and distinctive spirit of global 7-Eleven.
- Stable, smooth operation: The electrical, refrigeration and water supply and drainage systems run with absolute safety 24/7, with no voltage drops or leaks, giving maximum support to the store’s continuous sales operations.
